Lotus/Hot Wheels model to hit shelves spring 2008

Hot Wheels Lotus model

For last month's SEMA show in Las Vegas, Lotus joined forces with Hot Wheels to produce a 1/5 scale concept model that was on display throughout the show. Now comes the announcement that the model will be put into production in 1/64 scale for spring 2008.

When designing the model, Lotus chose styling that would both transfer well to a small-scale model as well as being instantly and distinctly recognizable as a Lotus. Trademark Lotus features are incorporated including the traditional Lotus "mouth" as well as the front top-exit radiator. A rear diffuser and wing, curvaceous, roadster-style body, and Elise-style headlamps all come together to create a car that looks exciting to drive and is undeniably Lotus.

The model is designed by the same team currently working on Lotus' new range of cars, including the "Project Eagle" prototype which is slated for production by the end of 2008.
